Make-A-Wish Foundation

In November I was contacted by the Make-A-Wish foundation of Greater Virginia and I was asks to be the honorary chairman for the Macy's "Believe" Campaign. My job was to collect as many letters as I could for Santa. Every letter that was collected and turned in on a certain date would raise $2 (donated by Macy's) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Through the help of local shops, schools, and fire departments, we were able to collect around 500 letters by New Years Eve. It was a great project and I owe a huge thank you to the IB program at Mountain View High School who helped create "mini mailboxes" that were set up around Stafford and Fredericksburg. These boxes were then collected and taken to Macy's. At Macy's I was surprised to be greeted by so many people willing to write even more letter for this great cause!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It has been a while since I last posted because things have been happening so fast! Just this month I have had the oppurtunity to show my support for the Susan G. Koman Cancer Foundation by walking in 2 walks and wearing something pink everyday. Earlier this month I made an appearance at a daddy daughter date night to help raise money for the cause. When I arrived I was extatic! There were so many beautiful little girls dressed up like princesses and I was so blessed to be able to take pictures with all of them <3 After I rode in a limo for the first time in my life! Overall it was an amazing day for an amazing cause.

I have a Chanllenge for everyone for the rest of the month...if you cant donate money try wearing a bit of pink everyday to show your support(bracelet, watch, shoes, shirts or even jeans!). Its the little things that count and maybe that bit of pink will inspire someone else to join the movement to finding the cure

Nationals

WOW! It has been awhile since I last posted on here. Things have been really busy since Nationals. Although I did not place, I had the time of my life! I met so many new people and it is an experience that I will hold onto for the rest of my life. I owe a huge thanks to all of my generous sponsors, friends and family who supported me every step of the way. Mrs Greenfield and Mrs Guter, you two were my pageant mamas throughout the whole week and I owe everything to you. Congrats to the new Miss Jr. Teen United States Paige Holloway. I know you will do an amazing job representing such an amazing country. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to meet you :) Jeffery you calmed my nerves all week <3 thank you so much for being there for me! Chris and Kyle, you put on an fabulous pageant and I cant wait to see it grow to be even bigger.

Nationals week was full of surprises! Between fireworks, parades, appearances, and rehearsals I was exhausted by the time it was over but it was and experience I wouldn't give up for the world. Tabitha Cain, who owns Pageants, Proms, and Pretty Things in Roanoke, Va, helped me pick out the perfect gown! Being on that stage knowing you are on live television is one of the most nerve racking things I have done but being in that perfect gown made a huge difference and calmed any jitters as soon as I stepped into it.

To my successor: Take in every moment and make as many friends as you can because even if you don't take home that crown, you can take home friendships that will last a lifetime

2 weeks until nationals

Its unbelievable how fast nationals is approaching. In less than two weeks I will be in DC with an amazing group of girls competing for the title of Miss Jr. Teen United States. Im looking back at how far I've come since I first started pageants and I never imagined that I would be going to nationals or holding a state title. The excitement, nerves, and curiousity are undescribable and I want to give a HUGE thanks to all my sponsors: Carter Hair Design, Garibaldi Insurance Agency, Kristie Lumley Moving Company, the Pethokoukis Family, Sun Image Tan, and Rachel From Salon 730. I wouldnt be going to nationals without you guys :)
